The Moab Lens Opened in April 2026
A New Moab Landscape Photo Gallery + Camera Store for Traveling Photographers
There’s something special about arriving in Moab — a landscape like no other. Big red rock cliffs, sandstone domes, winding canyons, and arches shaped by time. It’s the kind of place you don’t want to forget.
Maybe it’s a sunrise drive through Arches National Park or a sunset at the Green River Overlook in Canyonlands National Park — some of our favorite moments for sure. At every turn, you want to remember this place for years to come. The memory card already half full, the dust on your hiking boots, and the feeling that every desert road might lead to your next favorite photograph.
That feeling is exactly why we created The Moab Lens.
Opened in April 2026 in the heart of downtown Moab, Utah, The Moab Lens is part Moab landscape photo gallery, part camera store, and part creative gathering space for people inspired by the desert. Whether you’re a traveling photographer, a road-tripping family with a disposable camera, or a local creative looking for inspiration, we invite you to come check it out.
A Camera Store Built for Traveling Photographers in Moab
If you’ve ever realized you forgot an SD card halfway through a national park trip… you already understand why The Moab Lens exists.
Moab welcomes over 3 million visitors each year, but photographers have long had limited options when it comes to camera supplies and film. We wanted to create a place where photographers could walk in and find the essentials they actually need while exploring southern Utah.
At The Moab Lens, you’ll find:
- 35mm film and 120 medium format film
- Disposable cameras and instant film
- SD cards and memory cards
- Batteries, chargers, cables, and cleaning kits
- Lens caps, filters, and camera accessories
- Vintage cameras and film cameras
- Photography-inspired gifts and books
- Outdoor-inspired creative goods
Whether you’re photographing Arches National Park at sunrise or heading into Canyonlands National Park for sunset, we want to help keep you shooting.
Because sometimes the smallest forgotten item can become the biggest problem on a photo trip.
Film Photographers, We’ve Got You Covered
One thing we quickly realized? Traveling film photographers needed more than just film stock on the shelf.
The Moab Lens is now an official drop box location for Essential Photo Supply, making it easy for photographers traveling through Moab to safely drop off exposed film for processing instead of letting it bake in a hot car for the rest of a desert road trip or risk airport x-rays on the flight home. Now you can keep exploring while your rolls head safely toward processing.
More Than a Camera Store — A Moab Photography Gallery
The Moab Lens is also a curated landscape photography gallery inspired by the desert we call home.
The gallery features fine art prints from local photographers, including founders Corie Spruill and Tyson Swasey. Tyson’s imagery is shaped by the trails, cliffs, and hidden corners of the desert, while Corie’s work centers around connection, adventure, and the experience of being outside.
Inside the gallery you’ll find:
- Large metal landscape prints shipped directly to your home
- Loose fine art prints easy to pack into your suitcase
- Southwest-inspired gifts and artwork
- Photography merchandise inspired by Moab
We wanted the gallery to feel approachable, inspiring, and alive — not like a silent white-walled art space you’re afraid to walk through.
Rooted in Moab’s Creative History
The building itself carries a creative legacy.
In the 1980s, the space was home to local artist and silversmith Don Swasey, whose work and “Moab is Magic” illustrations became part of Moab’s early tourism identity as the town transformed from a uranium mining community into an adventure destination.
Today, the walls hold the landscape photography of Tyson Swasey — son of Don Swasey, shaped by the same desert landscapes, adventurous spirit, and creative energy that have long lived within this building and the Moab landscape.
The tools may have changed from silver and sketchbooks to cameras and prints, but the connection to this landscape remains the same.
A Space for Creativity, Community, and Desert Inspiration
The Moab Lens isn’t just about buying camera gear or looking at prints.
We want it to be a place where people slow down for a minute. A place where someone can walk in after an incredible sunrise shoot and talk photography with another traveler. A place where locals can share art, stories, and ideas.
A place where creativity feels accessible.
We’re building:
- A welcoming photography community space
- A creative stop for road trippers and adventurers
- A resource for photographers visiting Moab
- A gallery celebrating the desert landscape
You might come in for film and leave inspired to create something new.
